Hey Jack!
First of all, congrats on the silver medal! As a Canadian I can say your team was great at the olympics and it truly was a pleasure
to watch all the games.
I am a huge Kings fan and a really big fan of you and doughty, specifically.
I think you two guys are the future of this team and WILL lead us to our first stanley cup, ever!
I remember going to Michigan games back when you played for them and my dad saying to keep an eye on you
because you were a great player and he thought you would for sure become a great NHL player one day, and its great that
you are succeeding on the kings that I have loved all my life!
I am from windsor, ontario and can't wait to see you guys again next year when you come back to Detroit!
Good Luck next season, and we are all excited for what next year brings!

Hey Jack-
Congrats on getting captian for the US team! You can probably imagine that my dad and I will be huddled around the computer watching the games..and freaking out from time to time. I never mind seeing the red white and blue jersey with Johnson on the back. Also, great season for the Kings! I'm happy I got the chance to watch you play in St.Paul a few times too. Thank you for the puck on new years :) Good luck the rest of the tournament and have a great summer!

Hello Jack Johnson,
I want to let you know how YOU have impacted the world of ice hockey. Since you were really psyched about being at the Olympics and wanting to win Gold Medal, I can't imagine your dissappointment. Eventhough I know I can't heal your dissappointment, I thought I should still write a note to let you know you've made an impact.
I was not a fan of hockey. Living in Seattle where there is no NHL team, hockey sort of not there. I watched the opening ceremony. And I got to watch you explaining to the host what you had to go through to make sure that you were there at the opening ceremony. Flying to Seattle, taking a ground transport up. Not even spend the night, take the ground transport back and fly out for a game. Your dedication and enthusiasm of representing Team USA was inspiring to me. I was planning on going to an Olympic event. My plan was to attend the speed skating or snowboarding event. After watching your interview, I changed my mind and decided to go for hockey. Got tickets to USA vs. Norway. When I asked for the day off, my boss who is a big Blackhawk fan gave me a quick hockey who's who. Once there, it was amazing. I sat with 3 other team USA supporters in the middle of 3 full rows of Canadians who were rooting for Norway. It was awkward at first but we kept standing up, waving the flag and cheering, and since you were the only one I knew, I would yell your name to try to offset 3 rows of Canadians 'bashes'. After that game, I was hooked on hockey. I was there when you guys beat Canada and was there, crying (I am a girl) when Canada stole the Gold. I became a hockey fan and it all started with you. I look forward to cheering for Team USA again in Sochi. Till then, I'm excited to follow your career since I have not decided to adopt a team yet. By default I should root for The Canucks but I'm still a bit bitter from the 'banters' at the Olympics.

USA vs Canada was two of the best hockey games I have ever seen in my life. It was like 2 all-star teams going at it. It literally felt like someone stabbed my in the heart when Crosby scored. Damn proud of you guys though, we should get more respect now! You carried you great play back home to us Kings fans and in the playoffs I think we finally got to see your whole game. I have been waiting to see some you bring some MF back to your game JJ. We need it and much like Brownie you seem to play your best after you hit a few guys. Very much looking forward to next year and want to see more JJ and DD on the PP!

Jack,
I'm a Michigan alumnus (graduated in 04 and 05) and a huge Michigan hockey fan. I wanted to thank you for sticking up for Coach Berenson this past winter when his coaching was called into question. I live in New York City now but was still able to watch you attend the Michigan game that weekend and compete in Score-O and say only the most complimentary things about Coach. You are a true "Michigan Man" Jack. Hockey games at Yost are still my favorite Michigan memories. I wish that you guys still had Cammalerri and Tamby on the team.
Best of luck and GO BLUE,

Dear Jack Johnson,
Thank you so much for everything you did for America. You represented the United States and went to the opening/closing ceremonies first ever professional hockey player to do that. Im writing this to tell you how much you affected not only my life, but 30-40 others peoples lives also. In Howell, NJ (not the typical hockey place) we all worship USA hockey. World JRS, World Championships and most importantly the OLYMPICS! We have made mock rosters and mock lines for Team USA at the olympics since 2007 (you have been on my 2nd D pairing every time!) For every American hockey game we would all show up at my house and watch the games with 30-40 people all cramed into my living room which was re-named 'FERRANTE HOCKEY PLACE'. We lived the agony of team USA throughout every shift, every play, every goal. We all were pulling for you to win and we were going nuts when Team USA scored (even if you guys were up 6-0).
I hate talking about this but, when you were awarded your silver medals, I saw the tears, exhaustion and the pain you guys went through. We all knew that you tried your best. As you said in your blog "All the so called "experts" picked us for 8th place and gave us no chance at a medal", your proved the WORLD that America was the real deal. Well Jack, im just saying... YOU WERE THE HEART OF TEAM USA. You. In my opinion you wanted to be there and seize that moment more than anyone else.
Good luck in the playoffs... and please convince some people to play in the World championships! One final time .... U-S-A! U-S-A!
Signed
Mark Ferrante
p.s - my question is... If given the chance, would you represent USA at the world championships in Germany this year?
Jack: Thanks so much for all the kind words, Mark. It's such an honor for me to put on the USA jersey and playing in the Olympics was unbelievable. Yes, any chance I have to represent Team USA I will.

Hey!
I just want to say that I enjoyed every second I watched the USA play...and I think to see guys like you having so much fun on the ice was worth to watch the games early in the mornings or after midnight from my TV here in Germany. I enjoyed to see you play.
Even just to hear the King's games is really worth it because you and some others make it so exciting to sit down and listen to the streams.

I wrote a personal note of thanks to Mr. Johnson for representing our country so very well at the 2010 Olympics.
I am a Captain in the Army National Guard currently stationed in Iraq and was proud of how the entire Team USA represented the spirit of our country. It was an uplifting time during the Olympics. Yes, we all wanted the Gold, but to go and get a medal at an Olympics that we were not suppose to even be competitive in, was inspirational to this soldier and brought happiness to me and my fellow soldiers. It shows the spirit and the never quit attitude that we must live by. I am proud to wear the US flag on my shoulder and to be represented by such fine athletes on the world stages. It just goes to show you what America is made of. Thank you Mr. Johnson for your Olympic Spirit, it has brighten my time here. Go Kings and GO USA!!!

I instantly knew who you were - I remember how proud & excited LJ was when you were drafted a few years back. I was glued to the TV for every game, and truly enjoyed reading the ESPN coverage of your trip to the opening ceremonies, as well as your Olympic blog updates. It's been such an exciting journey. Thanks for posting the blog updates and letting us all feel like we were a part of the adventure. I am SO very proud of you and our entire team. I hope that you are equally as proud of yourselves for your incredible accomplishment! I hope the Kings games are televised on the East Coast b/c I'd love to follow the NHL season! Those were a couple nice moves before Malone's goal taday too. Hey Jack,
I had a quick question for you. What was it like for you to see your friend Sidney Crosby win the Stanley Cup this past summer? I'm also a Penguins fan, but ultimately my heart lies with the LA Kings. What was your experience with that whole ordeal? I was so proud of you guys when you beat them November 5th 5-2 and I will continue to yell, scream, and cheer you guys on until the very end. Thank you so much for taking your time to read this email.
Your fan,
Jennifer Rapp

Hi Jack,
My name is Steve Kowalski, and I am a reporter at the South Oakland Eccentric in Royal Oak Michigan (hometownlife.com). I am writing an obituary on Todd Whitelaw. Ron Holbrook, rink manager of Lindell Ice Arena in Royal Oak, said that you knew Todd well. I'm very sorry about the loss. Ron noted how well regarded Todd was to the people at Lindell Ice Arena and the hockey community at large.
I was wondering if you could comment about Todd and what he meant to you. I will not be at work late Thursday or Friday but I will be available via cell phone.
I saw some of your game against the Wings on local TV. I'm sure Todd was planning on going to watch the game at the Joe.
Thanks
Steve
Jack:
Steve, sorry this is so late. I and my family are really saddened by Todd's passing. I have known him my whole life. I remember him so well from Champion Hockey school and numerous pick up sessions. My family and I will miss him. The hockey community really lost a good guy.

To Whomever Reads the Emails,
There are just too many rumors out there. I can’t stay quiet. I know you can’t say much, but please just consider my opinion.
I met Jack Johnson and his father outside of the Honda Center during a preseason game against the Ducks a couple years ago. I was the Anaheim police officer who happens to be a diehard Kings fan. Jack Sr told me how happy his son was that Los Angeles allowed him to finish at Michigan. He also said Jack Jr wanted to finish his career as a King. I know that was early on in his career and the last couple seasons have been rough. But I don’t believe Jack Johnson is the type of player to take the easy road. Marian Hossa proved this year how important loyalty and dedication is to a team.
With Jack Johnson, the Kings will win the cup soon. That is obviously a great honor and a goal for every hockey player. But I believe it is a bigger honor to have your number retired with a team. How many players can claim that honor? A lot less than have won the cup. When the Ducks won the cup, I realized they don’t have anyone lined up to have their jersey retired. Selanne, maybe??
The rumor is Jack Johnson wants to re-unite with Crosby. I understand why he would want this, and there really isn’t a valid argument to overcome playing with your best friend. But here’s a crazy idea……bring him to Los Angeles. We did it before with Gretzky. It can be done again. That’s my selfish opinion.
Bottom line, I hope the rumors are false. The brief time I spent with the family I got the feeling Jack Johnson is a true athlete who is not concerned with making the most amount of money. There aren’t a whole lot of players in the league with Johnson’s talent. The Kings appear to be on the upside and I hope Jack Johnson is a part of it for many years to come.
Thank you for your time,
Matt Sutter
Jack:
Thanks for the note. Sorry this is so late. Please don't listen to rumors, about anything! They're always wrong.
